After months of being on the waiting list, Aaron Michael finally was able to join Beaver's Boy Scouts. His first opportunity to earn a badge was with a 6 mile hike. However, the hike was scheduled for the same time as his rugby game. I asked his scout leader if there was any way we could do the hike with Aaron after his game. His friend, Tommy, who is also on his rugby team was also in the same position. She agreed, so Tommy and his Dad went along with us on the 6 mile hike. The boys were tired before we even got started after playing 3 games of rugby. It was a really nice scenic hike.

My first successful flower garden
I planted some bulbs back in late November (evidently you can plant pretty late here). Over the last couple weeks they started growing and blooming. Aaron and I are going to go buy a border to put around them. I can't believe how beautiful they are.

Bowling with Friends
We went bowling with our friends (Belinda, Nik, Amelia, Miles). The kids played a game against each other and us adults played a game as well. The kids played very well. The parents decided to use the bumbers on our lane as well. We even made it a little more interesting by making rules such as trying to roll it the slowest down the lane, the fastest, etc. We all had a great time. Then we let the kids play in the arcade part. The girls were so cute on the dancing games. There was also a roller coaster game where you lye down and it shakes and makes you feel like you are actually on one. The kids were hilarious, screaming and laughing.

White Horse Hill
After counting down the short number of weekends we have left here and subtracting out the number of weekends we already have plans for, we realized there was so much more we still wanted to do. We definately didn't want to waste a weekend by not going anywhere. So we decided to go up to White Horse Hill and check it out. White Horse Hill is just a few miles away from our house.
The Uffington White Horse is a highly stylized prehistoric hill figure, 110 m long (374 feet), formed from deep trenches filled with crushed white chalk. The figure has been shown to date back 3000 years. The horse is thought to represent a tribal symbol perhaps connected with the builders of Uffington Castle. We had a great time and got lots of exercise walking all around the hill. I also was able to get quite a few beautiful photos.

Aaron Michael's Very Short Haircut
We all went to the Barber one day for Aaron and Aaron Michael to get their hair cut. Once we were there, Aaron Michael said "I really want a buzz". So when he got in the chair and told the barber that, he said "Are you sure?" as he looked over for my approval. Aaron told him to just do it really short around the sides to see if he really wants it that short or maybe just longer on top and blended. Once Aaron Michael saw how short the side was he said "Yes, I want that all over." I put my hands over my face and Aaron Michael just smiled really big. He was determined to have a buzz. So I said "Go ahead, it will grow back." I happened to have my camera with me, so I photographed the whole thing.
