White Horse Hill

After counting down the short number of weekends we have left here and subtracting out the number of weekends we already have plans for, we realized there was so much more we still wanted to do.  We definately didn't want to waste a weekend by not going anywhere.  So we decided to go up to White Horse Hill and check it out.  White Horse Hill is just a few miles away from our house.
The Uffington White Horse is a highly stylized prehistoric hill figure, 110 m long (374 feet), formed from deep trenches filled with crushed white chalk. The figure has been shown to date back 3000 years. The horse is thought to represent a tribal symbol perhaps connected with the builders of Uffington Castle. We had a great time and got lots of exercise walking all around the hill. I also was able to get quite a few beautiful photos.

In the distance you can see 5 windmills which are down the road from our house.
